Aka Dhage Wali Mishri is crystallized Rock Sugar prepared through the Indian traditional process. As per Ayurveda, Mishri has a cooling effect on the body and can help promoting digestion, hemoglobin count and better vision. It is made by pouring the sugarcane sap into vessels with threads in them. Then, the solution allowed to dry around the threads. This process of crystallization and recrystallization of sugarcane sap makes it easily digestible and leaves a cooling effect on the body. Interesting fact: Crystallized sugars are considered to have a cooling effect on the body while non-crystallized sugars have warming effect. Thus, Mishri, Khaand, Boora are known to be cooling sugars and Jaggery and Jaggery Powder are known to be warming sugars.
